Hi everybody!
This is the public diary of Melissa Zwick and Cullen Fischel, two Americans living and teaching in China. You may be wondering about the name of our blog, and I assure to you that it does have a meaning. You see, the name Zwischel: in China is a combination of our last names (Zwick + Fischel = Zwischel), and we're in China. Nifty, huh?
Now that you know the secret behind Zwischel: in China, you should probably know a little bit more about us. We met at Franklin & Marshall College (Go Dips!) and started our life together in New York City after Melissa came back early from Peace Corps Armenia. After a few years in entry-level positions, we decided to take a break from the grind and signed up with WorldTeach China in 2008. We made the trek to Hunan province and became responsible for teaching 750 students a piece at Yueyang Number One Middle School. In 2009, we moved up to Suzhou to teach at Suzhou Health College, and although we miss the wonderfully spicy Hunanese cuisine, we've been enjoying everything that this city has to offer!
We hope you enjoy Zwischel: in China, and don't be shy about leaving us comments!
